Most people going to Sa Pa are between 16 and 24. There are also a big amount of people from the age range 55 to 64 that is coming to Sa Pa. For the younger generation Sa Pa probably means adventure and new experiences but for the older people, Sa Pa has more of a relaxing status, with fresh air and calm surroundings. Although, a resent study shows that no-one over 65 has been in Sa Pa for a long time.
Where do people stay?
About 71% of tourists who go to Sa Pa stays at a hotel, 9% at the Victoria Resort, and 16% in rented rooms. Also, 4% is believed to live in Sa Pa, and stay in their houses. This shows that the majority of tourists in Sa Pa are backpackers or people that doesn't want to pay US$70 for one night at the Victoria. Actually, more people rent a room rather than stay at the Victoria.
How long in Sa Pa?
Most tourists that go to Sa Pa stays there for 3 to 4 days. Sa pa is an interesting place with beautiful mountains and surroundings, but to be there more than 4 days can get boring since you see almost everything the first day you're there and nothing new in the end.
