Facts about Sa Pa

• Sa Pa is the premier destination of North Vietnam. 17% of the people that goes to Sa Pa also live in Vietnam.

• It was established in 1922.

• It lies 1600m above sea-level in a beautiful valley.

• In winter, the temperature can go as low as 0°C, and also be very foggy.

• Afternoon showers are quite frequent.

• January and February are the coolest (and most foggy) months. From around March to May the weather is excellent. The weather in summer time is also quite pleasing.

• September to mid-December is the best time to go to Sa Pa as the weather is cool and pleasant, but there are also short showers frequently.
